Finally getting a chance to share some details from my weight-loss regimen. To be honest, I was hesitant of sharing these photos because babyyyyyyy I did not realize how far I came. My God!! Talk about denial. For as long as I can remember, I have always been overweight. Emotional eating sorta became my things after my grandmothers passing + my mothers and step fathers divorce. I just ate my little heart out.
I lost a ton of weight after Stephen and I began dating. Maybe a year later. You know that first year of dating you add on extra weight ??. Anyway, I would hit the gym 5 days a week and never weighed myself, so unfortunately, I can’t say my lowest weight. After having SJ + Sparkle back back ( 18 months to be exact ), self care was on the back burner. Kudos to the moms, who get back in the gym,right after a pregnancy. I did after SJ but after Sparkle ,we found out Stephen had to have open heart surgery (cues the music and slips back into depression).
Let’s fast forward to last year when the doctor told me my sugar was high! You want to talk about a wake up call!! With diabetes, running rapid in my family, that was all I needed to hear. Being only 28 with a life ahead of me, I have no time for diabetes or any other health issues. No thank you. I decided to discipline myself and get it together. The first thing, eliminated out all cakes, pie, juice soda, apple cider ( I don’t drink alcohol ). Second thing was limiting my meat intake and becoming a Pescatarian. Third thing was walking around my town to run little errands, whether it was taking the kids to the park, walking to shoot sparkles blog post, to the post office etc. I started small and the weight began to fall off.
Another big reason was watching my carb intake. Many times people think diabetes comes from sugar when its a combination of your sugar and carb intake.Once I started to watch my carb intake, noticed my body responds so much better with low carb. Will not lie to you, this was a huge adjustment for me because I love, fries, rice, pizza, all the bad carbs that were hurting me.
After fasting around May, taking care of myself needed to become a priority and it did. My why? was my life, and decided to do my part with keeping my body in order.
