Summer is headed our way and so is an Eczema flare -up! If you are unfamiliar with Eczema, it’s a skin disease that leaves itchy and dry patches on our skin ( THE WORSE). Most times, it begins in the form of a rash, and then it ends with a patch. For years, I battled eczema, in the winter time, it was pretty fair but it’s the summer when I felt like I would scratch my skin off ( yes, it’s that itchy). With dermatologist visit and consistency, my eczema is pretty much gone. Well now Sparkle has it!
I noticed it when she was around 3 months after I ran out of her Shea Moisture baby wash and used Johnson and Johnson. I noticed a rash almost immediately, followed by dry patches around her neck, chest, shoulders and her back. It was horrible!
I lathered her body down with Aquaphor ( LIFE SAVOR), I used this maybe 3 times a day on her dry patches and it slowly went away. During this time, I also noticed that she has very sensitive skin. You know the kind of skin where you are just too afraid new products to try because you just never know what will happen. Yup, that’s what she has. So I began to mix the Aquaphor with organic coconut oil. Sometimes, I will just use a tab of the organic coconut oil with Johnson and Johnson baby lotion for her face.
These three products seem to keep her Eczema at a minimum, I’m closely monitoring her skin since the weather is changing, I hate to see her itch so much, especially since I know the feeling.
Does your child have Eczema, what do you to take care of the “flare-ups”?
