Happy Birthday, Sparkle!!
Over the weekend, family and friends joined us to celebrate our Sparkle girl. Per her request, we had a stay-cation and a pool party. Mighty request right? After going overboard every single year, this year I just could not.So whatever she asked for, was alright for me. Since I threw this party together in just under a week, I wanted to share a few details that helped me pull it together.
First up was selecting a location. I wanted it to be easy for our guest to come and have fun but also comfortable for us since we planned on staying the night. After running through Google and searching like a crazy person, I came across the Hyatt House. IT WAS PERFECT!! Seriously, just perfect. When we checked in, I was like this was all JESUS. It had an outside pool and the bonus was a patio and grill area. After seeing that, we agreed Stephen would grill so that our guest didn’t have to walk back and forth to the room to eat or for us to sing Happy Birthday. The goal was to make things easier on everyone, , especially since kids were involved.
As you can see, her theme this year was: Mermaid, simple and fun. Since I only had a week to get this party together, less was best. We focused on pool floats, her bathing suits and little accents like the mermaid balloons and seashells to add around her cake and favor table. I skipped out putting together a kids table for two because honestly I just didn’t feel like it and I know the kids could care less, besides we were limited on space. We had two small tables to work within the grill and patio area. One of them I used to decorate the cake, cupcakes, and favors with. Speaking of cupcakes, its sort of a tradition for Sparkle and I to make her birthday party cupcakes together, the day off. I always want to buy some because they just look better, but having this tradition with her is something I actually look forward too!
so my cousin came and surprised Sparkle with these decorated candy apples, so cute right??
these were the favors, so cute and they were a big hit with the guest! What kid doesn’t love gold fish?
I’m happy to say, she LOVED every single detail and told me the party was perfect. All of our guest truly enjoyed themselves. We mostly stayed in the pool the entire time, jumping out to grab a snack or drink, or when it was time to sing Happy Birthday. Such a fun and intimate party to celebrate her turning 4. My favorite memory of the day is when it was time for her to make a wish, and her wish was that everyone received all of their wishes too. I promise you that’s just the type of girl she is. Safe to say, when I nicknamed her Sparkle, it was the best name I can ever give her.
Happy 4th Birthday Sparkle, We Love You!
