Oh My Toes! This snow took over our entire weekend! Talk about snowed in, literally. The city we live in, always does a crappy job at plowing the snow. It’s down right pathetic. You would think after all of my neighbors complaining they would come and clean our street, no! While the neighbors complained the kids on the block enjoyed it. There were so many large piles of snow on our block from the neighbors trying to shovel out their cars out. Too bad that didn’t work, the street was still so bad, even the SUV’s had a hard time getting out.
Summer was so excited to get outside. She tried to walk and run through the snow and her boot kept falling off. The first time it fell of it was funny, but after awhile, snow started to get in her boot, her socks were covered in snow and her feet were so cold. Not wanting to spoil her time outside, I gave her ten more minutes of playing in the snow before we called it a day. SJ could care less about sparkle and her boot issue. He enjoyed every moment of being outside and climbing up on the snow. Let him tell it, it was snow mountains. That funny son of mine, would climb all the way to the top and slide down with the biggest smile on his face. Summer however, struggled getting to the top, she would get half way there and slide back down. After her cry out for help, and SJ feeling sorry for her, he helped her out. For a few seconds after getting to the top, she just sat there. I think she wanted to savor the moment, if this was only her time getting to top. LOL !! However, when it was her time to slide down, it was a big one, she went head first giving it all she got. SJ and I kept laughing at her feet hanging in the air and her little raspy voice, saying ” I DID IT”.
The adult in me forgot how much fun snow days can be. Blame it on the feeling of being cold, or just not wanting to be bothered with the snow, but the kids made it so worth it. Besides, them playing in the snow made them very sleepy. Shout out to snow for knocking them right out as soon as we got settled in the house.
