Happy December 1st.
Can you tell I am already in the Holiday Spirit, I am so excited about all it will bring! This is Baby Star’s 1st Christmas and the first year, I can recall, that my kids are truly over the moon about the decorations and festivities. We were talking about Santa the other day, and it dawned on me that they really believe in Santa, wow! For some reason, I just assumed that they knew it was us buying the gifts? Sparkle even asked me how does Santa get his money and gets around town? I didn’t know whether to ruin it for them or not. It was hilarious exploring our imaginations, so much fun, so I guess we will keep it going!
Sometimes with all the talks about Santa, children can walk into Christmas believing it’s all about gifts and toys. Stephen and I do not want to stifle the imagination of our children. However, we will teach them that “Jesus is the reason for the season”.
Last Saturday, was family fun day, we spent the morning attempting family photos for our holiday cards and the evening looking for a Christmas tree. Why didn’t anyone tell me taking family photos gets harder as the kids get older? I thought it would be easier!! Seriously, how hard is it just to look at a camera and smile. There is always one who either has their eyes closed, not looking at the camera, or not smiling. Help us Jesus, because taking nice family pictures ain’t easy!
It was a perfect family day, talking about all the things we will do during the season and of course allowing the kid’s to give us their Christmas list. We have picked out a Christmas tree as a family for several years now, the kids love it, so I don’t think that will ever get old. I guess you can say it is one of our traditions.
Speaking of holiday traditions, what are some of yours?
