This week, I had the urge to do a DIY project using the kids Ikea table and chair set. I wanted to give it a lift but didn’t want to do too much because I do like the wood and simplicity of the set.I decided to try the dip dye trend even though it’ s a pretty old trend, I still like it. Due to the fact that I am a minimalist, I chose to do them yellow, once I spray painted one leg in the yellow, I screamed because I hated it. So I scurried and got white spray paint. Since, I already jacked up one leg, I decided to do opposite legs on the chairs with the yellow.
Here’s what you will need:
Painter’s Tape, or regular box tape will work just fine
Sand paper, if you need to sand the area you plan on painting
1. Measure the area that you plan to spray paint. Be sure you tape that area for reference.
2.Sand that area only.
3. Check over everything to make sure its to your liking and than you can begin to spray paint.
I initially did one coat , let it dry and than came back to do another coat.
*Make sure you are at least 5-7 inches away from the area while spray pairing. This will give you a smooth finish. If you notice the spray paint running, you are too close to your object, back it up 🙂
