How often do we all want to travel all over the world, yet we take advantage of our current/surrounding location and all that it has to offer. Stephen had his 1st Friday off since working his job back in April. YAY! Although we planned to take a one day stay-cation, we opted for taking the kids on their very first train ride to NYC. My best friend niece is here for 3 weeks visiting from Sweden so they came with us.
I stepped away from them at this point. Was beginning to look like a bunch of lost tourist folks.
After figuring out which area we were in, ( Soho, Village, Chelsea), I jumped on google and realized we were close to the Brooklyn bridge. Never walking, always driving, we decided to cross this one-off our bucket list.
By the time we walked across this bridge, we were HUNGRAY. Maybe more like starved, all of us were cranky, hungry and parched from that blazing heat. Yet we got to the end of the bridge and had to figure out where to go. I don’t know if i had my thinking cap on that day, but I was the only one who thought to use the google maps walking direction to get us to some food and a resting point. We ended up getting some Shake Shack and I opted for Luke’s Lobster.
This shrimp sandwich was so good. My God. So much meat and that bread, toasted to perfection.
This was such a fun day with my crew. So thankful for the little memories we can create with them and enjoy where we are with what we have. That’s true Happiness.
