Summer is coming to an end and we are preparing SJ for Pre-K. We knew the time would come, but gosh, not this fast. This will be a huge adjustment for all of us. Each day, I check the calendar, counting down the days. So many emotions and feelings are taking over my entire mind. Leaving me feeling unprepared for this moment. He’s been home with me for 4 years, little time spent at daycare when Stephen had his surgery, but after that, he was back at home with me. So you can imagine my nerves about him starting Pre-K. Is he ready to excel academically and socially? The real answer is, time will tell. The type A in me, is trying to predict and plan what the teachers are going to say or what his performance will be like. When in reality, I just need to trust that he will be fine. I started praying for protection for him at school, that he will make smart choices, his friends will be like-minded children like himself, and they will have God-fearing parents like Stephen and I. It’s never too early to start praying for these things especially since he is starting school.
Nothing cures my anxiety and gets my mind refocused than styling. It’s my therapy! The minute the package arrived from Target’s new kids brand, Cat and Jack, the kids began screaming , ripping off tags and trying everything on before I could finish my sentence. The soft fabric and sizing sealed the deal for me. Always a little weary of buying clothing from Target, because sometimes it could be hit or miss, but Cat and Jack gives me quality and trendier items at a very reasonably price.SJ loved the cargo pocket detail on both sides of his pants. Perfect opportunity to store his small Lego figures and race cars ( inserts OVER IT FACE) , Sparkle felt like a princess super girl in her cape. She kept running around everything to see if it would fly up in the air. Aren’t their imaginations priceless at this age? So much innocence, curiosity, and love for any and everything. Gosh, I miss being their age. The child in me, felt like running and being a princess super girl with her. Wouldn’t save the day per say, but it looked like it was worth a try.
Thank you Target, Cat & Jack Collection for sponsoring this post. All opinions are our own.
