When a mom is sick, the family is sick. I just made that up but honestly, that’s how I feel. Everyone just seems to be out of when I am sick. I’m not sure if I have the flu or just a really bad cold, but whatever it is, I’m so over it. No home cooked meals from me since Friday, but my sweet Mother In Law cooked for us to last us for the weekend. Stephen had to work all weekend, so that meant I couldn’t rest as much as I needed too. My mom came and took them to see the Christmas light at the zoo on Saturday night. It was such a good sleep until the sound of SJ screaming” Mommy, I took a picture with Santa” woke me up. Who could be mad at that, sick or not. I jumped up with the little amount of energy left in my body to see my big boy half way smiling and my mom making note that Sparkle was not even entertaining Santa this time around. LOL
Here a few pictures from our time at the tree farm. We don’t have many holiday traditions, at least ones that we do every year, still working on that. But we do buy a tree together every year. One that is already pre cut, but we pick it together. This year, we went to an actual farm, just because I wanted to be extra. No other reason at all. Especially since we drove past at least 5 different lots that were selling trees. Stephen looked like a sad puppy who wanted to stop at the first lot we saw, but kept driving to make me happy. Happy Wife Happy Life.
The kids are getting of age where they look forward to the things that were once unfamiliar to them. We still want to use this time to teach them the true meaning of the Holidays. It’s not the gift giving, Santa, parties, all of that is a bonus and they need to learn that now. As they get older, it’s so fun to watch them with excitement! After picking out a tree, we walked over to see Santa. Not knowing what to expect, I was ready for one of them to scream and leave with tears. To my surprise, with SJ going 1st he set the tone for Sparkle and she was good to go.SJ had a full-blown conversation with him about wanting ninja turtle stuff, how old he was and how he is going to be a good boy. ( still waiting on that ). Sparkle had to introduce all of us to Santa, poor girl still getting the hang of this santa thing, I’m just happy neither one of them left in tears about how they were scared of Mr Santa. lol
Tis the Season.
